Completely Prepared

Strength training, regular exercise & better rest helps any teen fit & more alert for their after school activity. Most athletes get the exercise they need through their practices, however, nutrition is where they are more likely to not be up to par. A better diet helps the brain to function more effectively, creating better quick decision making during a game & encourages muscle growth. Even those who are in musical & theater arts, need to be able to practice again and again using lung capacity especially. The more in shape the body is, the better the mind & body are able to perform & recover for the next day or practice.

Better Self Image

According to one study in 2023, 1 in 5 youth struggle with obesity. For high school teens, teasing & bullying increase significantly with 58% of males & 63% of females being made fun of because of their size. Without sufficient mental & emotional support, teens are much more likely to commit suicide. The percentage of overweight teens thinking about committing suicide is 20% - 24%, while 3% - 8% actually attempt. Self confidence & self image is a big part of the teen culture, daily thoughts & actions as well as impacting their developing minds & bodies. Youth are extremely impressionable & risk dangerous outcomes if their weight & self image isn't something they are comfortable with.

Improve Academics

A Penn State University study found that those who exercise, had more pleasant feelings than those who didn’t. Exercise releases endorphins, creating feelings of wellbeing and happiness. A happy teen is a more effective team member, can focus on lectures better, tasks longer, retains information better & better decision making during test time. When you feel better, you have more confidence in yourself, make better decisions & in the long run - have a better & more pleasant experience.

Safe Mental Space

With a lot more children & young adults choosing video games in a dark room instead of playing outside, exercise doesn't naturally go hand in hand with youth anymore. Exercise combats effects of physical and mental stress while improving the brain’s response to stress. You may not be able to reduce their daily stressors, but you can change the response. At the same time, increased confidence & lowered stress chemicals help to manage the symptoms of depression & anxiety. In some cases, even 30 minutes of exercise a day is even more effective than medication! Because of the improved brain power, they become more responsible, independent, positive about who they are, plan & think about the future & develop better decision making skills,
